Diana Glaser

Director, Orthopedic Biomechanics Research Center, UC San Diego

Dr. Glaser is leading the Research efforts un Aurora Spine. Prior to that she was the director of the Orthopedic Biomechanical Research Center at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. She is defining the strategic direction in area of scientific research and technology development. In 2013 she is also the Vice President of Exegen IP Alliances, a medical devices, biotechnology and pharmaceutical driven company partnering entrepreneurs and startups andfocusing on taking products from concept to market integration.Dr. Glaser has extensive experience in numerous phases of orthopedic research and development with core functional strengthin biomechanics, biomaterials, computational sciences, complex product testing, scientific and clinical evidence development, and technology advances. She is handling all aspects of research initiatives across a range of applications, including negotiation, contracting, intellectual property management and commercialization. She is also currently developing a platform technology for Total Knee, Total Hip and Total Disc Arthroplasty implants and leg prosthesis based on proprietary technology that targets motion preservation and respect of natural kinematics, naturally leading to enhanced performance, outcome and durability. Dr. Glaser is recognized for scientific accomplishments in the areas of pediatric and adult medical devices, orthopedics and spine with excellent contributions in preclinical and clinical research. Additionally, Dr. Glaser is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is currently a Director in Corporate Relations/Marketing at the Project Management Institute in San Diego. In August 2008, she was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Concentration Orthopaedics, at the University of Tennessee. Prior to that she completed her MS in Engineering in Aachen Germany and subsequently worked as a project manager in a consulting company in Germany.
