Meet Our New Office and Communication Assistant, Anjali Tholudur!

April 15, 2026 - At its core, progress in engineering and medicine depends on collaboration and connection. That idea is what drew me to the Institute of Engineering in Medicine, and I’m excited to join the team as the new Office and Communications Assistant.  In many ways, this role feels like an extension of what I already love doing: building connections between people and helping ideas take shape through projects, design, or storytelling. I’m eager to support the people, programs, and partnerships that bring IEM’s commitment to collaboration to life.

I’m a second-year Bioengineering major and I grew up in Southern California. I’ve always been drawn to designing things, from modeling 3D components for bioengineering project teams, to creating graphics, flyers, or digital content that bring a message to life. I currently serve as Social Co-Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Society, where I focus on building a personal and professional community for Bioengineering students. I’m also a member of Triton Prosthetic Society’s Project Team, where I am currently working with my team to make a transfemoral prosthetic. Across all of these experiences, what I’ve loved most isn’t just the technical side; it’s the process of collaboration, iteration, and watching an idea slowly become something tangible through hard work.

Outside of engineering, you can usually find me at the beach, baking something sweet with friends and family, at the gym, or playing tennis or pickleball whenever I get the chance. I value creativity, balance, and community, and I’m excited to bring that same energy into my role at IEM. Whether I’m updating IEM’s website, designing advertisement materials, coordinating events, or sharing the stories of groundbreaking research, I look forward to supporting the innovation happening at the intersection of engineering and medicine and strengthening the connections that make it possible!
