Our research program is focused on dissecting the neuronal, vascular and glial mechanisms that underlie the hemodynamic changes in cerebral and cerebellar cortices in animal models. Our tools include advanced optical imaging (CCD-based and 2-photon), electrophysiological recordings, fMRI and neuronal and vascular modeling. In addition to healthy brain, we study neurovascular communication in neurodegenerative disease and stroke. Our research program is focused on dissecting the neuronal, vascular and glial mechanisms that underlie the hemodynamic changes in cerebral and cerebellar cortices in animal models. In addition to healthy brain, we study neuronal remodeling and neurovascular/neurometabolic communication in brain disease.
