The mission of the WHISDEM Center is to unite UC San Diego engineers, basic scientists, and health care providers to spark cross-university, multidisciplinary research opportunities centered around women’s health. We also seek to educate trainees and faculty at all career levels to address sex-based and gender-based health disparities through technological advancements, commercialize novel diagnostic and therapeutic solutions, and promote outreach both within and outside of the university community.
